Three of Swords

Upright, the Three of Swords is one of the guarantees of life: it will not always be easy, it can be painful, and you won’t go through life without being hurt. That’s the bad, but unsurprising, news. The goods news is that, because this is a part of life, you can and will get past this. I’m not going to bring in the old adage about what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, because at your lowest point that can feel like the biggest load of bullshit. You feel wounded, weak, and left wondering how you managed to hang in there. Its okay to feel vulnerable and weary. Its okay to move forward on your own time.

Taking the time you need only becomes a problem when you sink into it, which is what the reversed Three of Swords is warning you about. Whatever hurt you, or angered you, or shifted your life all around until you couldn’t recognize it doesn’t have power over you unless you let it. And, never moving on means it does. Something I heard once that always stuck with me was: Closure is something you have to give yourself.  If the person who hurt you was capable of giving you closure, they wouldn’t have hurt you in the first place. Use that as a starting place. Accept that, no matter how much you want to, you can’t change nor can you control anyone, you can only change and control yourself. Once you accept that, it becomes possible to find your peace.

Anyways, thanks for reading and let me know what you think in the comments. Bye!
