The Six of Cups is our past, where we felt safe, protected, and loved. I’ve always felt that your past is a bit like walking on a tightrope, you have to maintain a balance between who you are and where you came from as well as who you will be and where you will go. One can’t exist without the other, and yet you can’t look ahead while looking back. Upright, you’ve found the balance. As this card follows the disappointments of the Five of Cups, you have the support from the people in your life who love you which you use to keep going forward.
Reversed, you dwell in the past and have no inclination to move on. In my experience, fear is usually the driving force behind that. Why try to change, only to inevitably fail, when you can stay in what you know? Undisputedly there’s no risk in that, but that’s also not the journey we are meant to take as humans. We are made by our failures and what we learn from them. Have a goal for yourself and work towards it, little by little. Don’t let yourself become fatalistic. The only guarantee in life is that if you do nothing, nothing will happen. That, and there’s a reason to try and live a life without regrets.
As always, thanks for reading and let me know what you think in the comments. Bye!
